Teresa Méndez-Faith

Origins
I was born in Asunción, Paraguay, in the middle of the 20th century. I was the eldest child of Epifanio Méndez Fleitas, an exceptional man of his time, and of Fredesvinda Vall de Méndez, a most wonderful mother. Together with my four younger brothers and one sister, we have experienced an exceptional life, ranging from playing games in presidential palaces to barely scraping by for a living as exiles.

From the age of 9 until the fall of Stroessner my life was a sequence of exiles. These began within Paraguay, in San Pedro del Paraná, later as an adolescent in Montevideo, Uruguay, and extending several years through my life in the United States. It was in the United States that I now live with my husband Ray Faith and son Edward Faith.
