Zoos and aquariums have decided to take the lead in getting people to act to preserve biodiversity, which is shrinking at an alarming rate. WAZA's «Biodiversity is Us» project is timed to support the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity 2011–2020, by providing tools for raising awareness about biodiversity.
Our Biodiversity is Us app is available for all smartphone users in five languages, at no cost. Use the QR code below to download the app or go to your smartphone marketplace and search for «Biodiversity is Us».
Through use of the app, you can learn about 400 animal species, take part in games and quizzes, build your own animal checklists and share your favourite animals' pictures and actions with friends via Facebook.
