Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz came into existence on September 1, 2005. However the history of the University dates back to 1969 when the Teachers’ Training College was founded.
The name and organizational structure of the school was changed several times:
1969-1974
Teacher’s Training College with three faculties: Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science and Faculty of Pedagogy
1974-2000
Higher Pedagogical School with the right to offer Master’s Degree (MA) programs
2000-2005
Kazimierz Wielki Academy
since 2005
Kazimierz Wielki University
Now, Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz is a dynamically developing institution of higher education, the largest in the city and the second largest in the region in terms of the number of professors, number of majors, and the number of students and graduates. Kazimierz Wielki University is one of the youngest wide-profi le universities in our country.
