Consisting of seven separate modern, comfortable rooms which are deliberately not furnished in an overtly 'residential' style, as is often seen in many bed and breakfast operations. The goal has been to create a contemporary, harmoniously-designed environment which will be perceived as something more individual than a standard hotel, without appearing too much like a home. Two guest rooms share one bathroom, while the others have their own facilities.
Services include complimentary wired and wireless Internet access (Telus: 25 mbps), air conditioning, central heat, satellite TV in a guest lounge and three guest rooms, all-day refreshments, guest fridge, private off-street parking, and secluded guest-only terraces and decking areas outside.
A major advantage of the configuration of the property is that there is a complete division between private and public areas. Guests enter and leave by their own front and rear entrances/exit, and the owner's residential quarters are on-site, but discreet from the commercial part of the house.
The largest change in the structure of the business occurred in 2008, when a total remodeling of the rear of the property was undertaken. This added three new residential bedrooms (plus one ensuite bathroom), a commercial laundry, a living space, large office, hallway, and a much improved private entrance. Guests also gained a large sun deck and better access from the rear to the new parking lot. The project totally separated the office and private living areas from the guest (commercial) space.
The present owners of nearly 10 years have modernized and created a first class accommodation business. The current operating model has now been stabilized, and no substantial operational changes are foreseen in 2015. Relatively limited capital expenditure (largely replacement) is expected in the near future; considerable improvements have been made in the five previous years of ownership, including one major building extension and a rebuild of the kitchen area.
